BRIEF ABOUT OFFICES HELD BEFORE HE WAS NOMINATED AS CHIEF JUSTICE.
i. Twice as Vice Chairman of Balochistan Bar
ii. President of Balochistan Bar.
iii. President of High Court Bar Association.
iv. In 1989 he was appointed as Advocate General of Balochistan and ultimately elevated as
Judge of High Court of Balochistan.
v. In 1990, being a Judge of the High Court, also served as:-
vi.
a. Banking Judge,
b. Judge of the Special Courts for Speedy Trial and Customs Appellate Court as well as Company Judge;
c. Appointed as Chairman of the Balochistan Local Council Election Authority and conducted twice Local Bodies Elections in the Province of Balochistan showing his rich experience in dealing with executive administration.
vi. He twice served as Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Balochistan.
vii. His Lordship was appointed as Chief Justice of High Court of Balochistan in 1999.
viii. He was appointed as Judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan on February 4, 2000. Besides, he also served as
Chairman, Enrolment Committee of Pakistan Bar Council.
ix. He took aoth of the office of the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan on 30.06.2005.
x. He attended 22nd Biennial Congress on the Law of the World, held in Beijing & Shanghai, China in September, 2005. He participated in the International Conference and Showcase on Judicial Reforms held in Philippines in November, 2005. He also visited United Kingdom in February, 2006 in connection with the UK-Pakistan Judicial Protocol on Children.

On the fateful day of 9th March, 2007 he was suspended by a General and till that day he is struggling to restore the honour and respect of the judiciary of Pakistan. I hope and pray that his sacrifices may not be futile.
